Your native language is not English or French. Your given name is practically unpronounceable. You grew up in not so nice neighborhoods in the middle of a major city. You dropped out of school, sometimes living in the streets. By the time you are 22 years-old, you will appear in concert at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.

All The Weeknd had to do was post some music videos on You Tube. From there, the phenomenon from Toronto, Canada, just grew in statues, art, music and revenues.
The Weekend was born by the name of Abel Makkonen Tesfaye to parents by Ethiopian decent. He was raised by his mother and grandmother, who taught him Amharic. He later picked up English and French by going to school.
He first posted a few of his songs on YouTube and got noticed by some music producers, who signed him to a record label.
Up to date, The Weeknd, AKA "Kin Kane", AKA "The Noise", has released five studio albums and appeared in five films. He went out on seven world tours, the last one, the After Hours til Dawn Tour, to support his two latest albums, "After Hours" and "Dawn FM". The first leg of the tour, played in stadiums over the United States and Canada, has sold in the access of 350 million dollars, suppressing Michael Jackson's "History World Tour".
Second leg of the world tour will lick start in August 2023 in Warsaw, Poland, and played out until October in Mexico, with stops in England (Wembley stadium), Estonia, Brazil, Columbia, Chile, Peru and Argentina.
Up to date, The Weeknd has sold over 75 million albums. He has won, among others, four Grammy Awards and 20 Billboard Music Awards.
