About ATP Tour (250/500)
The ATP Tour 500 and ATP Tour 250 are the fourth and fifth-highest tiers of men’s tennis tournaments that are held annually. They fall below the Grand Slam tournaments, the ATP Finals and the ATP Masters 1000. Sports tickets for these events are still highly prized as many rising stars and well-known names play in the tournament.
The 250 includes a series of 39 tournaments, while the 500 involves 13 tournaments. The ranking points awarded for wins at these tournaments are indicated by the name – 250 points on the ATP Tour 250 and 500 points for the ATP Tour 500. Rankings can determine seeding at major events, which can have a direct effect on the success of any player.
It is a mandatory requirement that the top players in the world enter at least four of the 500 tournaments every year – Roger Federer is the record holder for the most singles titles in this event, having won 24 to date.
